It all came from a brilliant idea in a brainstorm the always-amazing Sophie Roubicek - what if you could speak to Santa Claus from a Telstra payphone?
Every year this campaign has got bigger and better and is still going strong five years later - now that's an idea with legs ;)

An idea that solved a genuine problem.
On August 3rd 2021, Telstra announced payphones would become free for everyone in Australia.
Payphones are a crucial service for some of the country’s most vulnerable people and communities, especially those in regional and remote areas.
However, there was a lack of understanding from younger generations on how to use them and use was dwindling.
How to make payphones relevant for kids, and actually get them to step up and make a call?
